The design of these earrings draws inspiration from the worship of the sun and constellations in Miao mythology, as well as the concentric sun motifs found on the surfaces of Miao bronze drums. The pieces are crafted by hand by master artisans in the deep mountains, utilising the National Intangible Cultural Heritage technique of Miao silver forging from Southeast Guizhou.
