This collection of handbags is crafted using the traditional techniques of ‘Suzhou Embroidery’, a national-level intangible cultural heritage. The embroiderers use natural mulberry silk and techniques such as the flat stitch, running stitch and the ‘solid-and-void’ stitch to vividly depict classic Jiangnan motifs, such as magpies perched on plum blossoms and butterflies fluttering amongst flowers. The bags feature a structured baguette silhouette and can be carried in a variety of ways, including as a clutch, over the shoulder or under the arm.
